The Baal Shem Tov, or Besht —  the founder of Chasidism —
met the soul of the Messiah during an ascent to heaven.
The Besht asked him, "When will the Master come?"
The Messiah answered, "When your wellsprings break forth to the outside!"
(from a letter written by the Besht to his brother-in-law about one of his soul ascents)

Send a Review About a Happening

Send us reviews of events, books, minyanim and teachers—we'll post them here.
Some of the things we'd like to hear about include the annual Carlebach conferences held in Manhattan, and the "Day of Ishbitz" mini-conference that took place Jan 2006 at the JCC in Manhattan; something about why you think a particular minyan or shul is worth a visit; CD's or performances of traditional/East European/Chasidic/neo-Chasidic music.
